Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult season, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after March of that year.
Victory also means Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children together, so to win a championship is really nice," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
His retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.
He rescued four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he secured the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
